    Default Rebooting problem

I have had my 650 for two years with no problems. Today when I performed a hot sync, it took really long and something weird has happened. The handheld device keep rebooting and then shutting off. I get the Palm Powered screen and then the palmOne screen with the expanding line at the bottom then it shuts down and begins again. I can't seem to turn it off or anything. I took the battery out and put it back in and the same thing happens. I don't know what I did to it. Does it have anything to do with the expansion card or do I need a new battery? Please help! Thank you. Nancy

did you sync any new programs recently or move programs to the card? Try removing the card, and see if it changes things. There is also an article in the Palm "support section" of their page about endless loop resets.

Try a soft reset first. Remove the battery cover (not the battery) and push the reset button with the stylus.

If that does not work then you may have to do a hard reset. Have you backed up your data of hot synced recently?

After the hard reset use the treo to be sure your problem is gone. If it is do a hot sync but only one conduit at a time to see what may be causing your problem.

I may be a little hasty here and you might look into a warm reset before the hard reset. Do a search in the FAQ here for more details on the resets.

Thanks to both of you for your speedy responses. I have tried all three of the reset processes. The minute I let go of the keys, the looping starts again. Should I take this to a Treo store or to a Verizon store? I pay Verizon $5.99/month for the TEC Insurance - could this mean they will replace it? Somehow I doubt it. Thanks again.

Yes - it synced just fine. I'm very grateful for the help. I'd rather go to the dentist than deal with a Verizon store!

I know what you mean. Sprint has very good tech support but it takes you an hour to get through all of the reps trying to help you.
