Reception problem. And warrenty replacement question.
Well first off I'd like you introduce myself, my name is Mark and I am new to this forum.
So heres the problem, I was fortunate enough to have a cousin that gave me a 650 with no antenna and no stylus when I went to visite in Gardena, CA. While there in Cali it had 0-1 bars of service. I am now back in Casa Grande, AZ and I get 0-1 bars of service too. I just revieved the shortened antenna from www.palmaddictstore.com along with a new stylus and I still have the exact same service..
Now, the phone isn't activated yet as I work at Radioshack and have to wait about 2 weeks before they put me on an employee plan. So is the reception bad because the phone isn't registered under a number or do any of you think the phone is bad.
The last thing is I am curious as to what phone I would get if mine was still not working properly, or was lost, stolen, dropped in a toilet, etc, and I were to claim that I need a replacement. Would I get another 650, or do they not make them anymore and would I get a 755p?? Thank you all in advance for the advice.
P.S. I know you're all thinking that I work at radioshack and shoud know some of this, but I am not a tech

I would think that you would get a 650 unless they are completely out of replacements then you would get the closest upgrade.
Your service is probably looking at a roaming signal if any since you are not signed up to access a service s towers. hmmmm that does not make any sense but you can activate it and see.
Most services will let you sign up on insurance within a certain time period after you activate. I do not believe the phone has to be new to do this.

Thats probably why it says that I'm in roaming, but there are times that it says that I'm the sprint network, well who knows I'll just have to wait and see what happenes when I gets activated.
As far as the insurance goes you can get insurance on any phone as long as its done within 30 days. I wonder if they would give me a 755p if I paied the difference? That would be nice, its kinda getting on my nerves how its so easy for the memory card to pop out because of how exposed it is, but I do like the phone.

I have a skin on my treo and it seems to protect the card area a little bit. It is not over it but it is kind of raised like the card there.
