Red light in upper left stays on

Can anyone tell me why the light in the front, upper left corner turns red, comes on and stays on? I can't receive phones calls when it's on. I know it comes on for emaila but this just comes on and stays on for no good reason. Also, the back of my 650 gets very warm when this happens. Any clues?

Are you sure the solid LED is red, or is it amber? If it is red im not sure if I can help you, becasue that usually only happens when it is charging. If it is amber, then there could be many reasons why this is happening. Does it just happen out of the blue, or when a program accesses data (i.e. web, mail, any program set to automatically access data). The reason I ask is that a program might be automatically accessing data, and then it "hangs" keeping it from disconnecting properly. I do have a few questions. How long does the light stay on? Is it until you turn it off, untill you perform a soft or hard reset, or does it finally turn off on its own? What service provider do you use? The reason I ask is you may need to install an updated firmware from your provider, or it might be as simple as performing a hard reset, soft reset, or uninstalling a bad program. As far as the battery heating up (the back of your 650 getting really warm), I am assuming that is caused by the phone accessing data for an extended period of time. The cellular radio uses more power than while the phone is just being used as an organizer, and makes your battery work over time. Does your battery life diminish quickly when this happens?
