Default Ring tones

Hi,

I just bought my Treo 650 one month ago and loving it. This is my first time using Palm and todate still trying to get the hang of it. One very important is downloading ringtone. I cant seems to know how. Not as simple as my old xda II. Can someone please help me. Thanks.

I was told I have to download from third party. Please also tell me what software or program in order to download ringtone and for ringtone to work on my Treo 650.

Eve

To use MP 3 ringtones, you can use a third party application such as Ringo Pro or mRing. Also member kdallen posted yesterday I believe on way to do this for free. Its a little work, but it can be done.

Check out this thread

To add Treo supported ringtones, here is a small tutorial from the FAQ section.

You can get ring tones from different sites. I get on line with my treo and went to 3gforfree.com and followed the steps. I am with sprint and they work/sound great. The tones are added with the ones that come with your phone.

I think you can do them from your PC with Hot Sync but I have never done that.

Background pics Too!!

yea, maybe its just me and Cingular, but I haven't have very good luck with 3gforfree.com If you surf from/ pull them to your PC, they charge you. (only $7.00 per year) but you can download several while surfing from your phone. It seems that the ones I really want however, aren't available for Cingular, ATT, Tmoble, etc.

The best solution for me has been using my own CD's, ripping them to MP-3 and editing them with Audacity, and then sending them to my card, and then assigning them through Ringo . .

I did it the cheap, 'not as clear sounding' way. I used the record method to make my own ring tones. I played a song on my computer and just put the treo up to the speaker and recorded it. Because i spent a lot of money on ringtones for my old phone, and i couldn't bring them over to my treo. So i made my own, of songs I could never find.

May not be the clearest ringtones, but it works for me.

Here's a post I put up a while back on how to create your own ringtones from cd's or whatever other audio file you choose. It takes a few minutes but you'll like the end result.

I am trying to load ringtones to my TREO 650. I have a trial of Ringo right now and was told to put that file on my card. How do I do that?
Also, once that is done, what is the next step? I do not use my TREO 650 online, so am not internet connected with it. What is the way to download the tones(whether mp3 or others) to my phone.
Thanks for your consideration on this. Am not real TREO savy yet, but LOVE the phone.
