 |  Rom I bought a Treo 650 that used to be on cingular but is now unlocked. When I check the software version it gives me Treo650-1.15-CNG. I have absolutely no need for anything Cingular on the phone... should I leave this software or should I install (downgrade?) to the unlocked 1.13? Assuming ofcourse that I can do this... I'd rather get rid of the cingular stuff, but will I lose anything else?

| you have it unlocked but still branded to cingular... downlaod tokenwriter its free.... after download start up tokenwriter and when the screen comes up type in this without the quotes...."write crnm ROW" that will take the cingular off your phone...and now your splash screens will be treo only not cingular thats the easiest way to tell if you did it successfully. ROW stands for Rest Of the World and if for some reason you need it back to cingular just type it the same except instead of ROW type CNG for cingular |

| Did everything as you said the phone restarted showed the palm one logo, had a progresss bar as if it was loading something and then the cingular logo appeared... went into my applications and both Xpress Mail and GetGood from Cingular were still in the applications telling me they can't be deleted. Phone info still has 1.15-CNG as before. I've done this twice. The first time as described above, the second time Tokenwriter froze and did a soft reset. Am I missing something?

  | To remove the Good and other Cingular programs from your device, you would need to delete those from the ROM. Your best bet in that respect then would be to make a custom ROM. I can only point you to www.shadowmite.com as I have no experience with doing the ROM editing/reflashing since I dont have a 650 either.
