Rookie Treo user and very happy with my new Treo!!!
Hey all, just got my treo 650 about 2 and half weeks ago. I must say I'm still discovering new functions! I had been coming to the site for about 3 or 4 months and getting advice by looking through the forums. Thanks to all of you guys who post problems and fixes, you guys have answered a number of my ?'s already. Anyway I'm just so damn excited! Sorry about the language Chris!
I have not added anything to it yet, going to take about another week or 2 to play with it. I guess one question i have is, 1) is there anything wrong with Blazer or are there other web browsers? What about watching movies, am I going to need professional help, or is that process somewhat beginner friendly?
Thanks guys Im sure I'll have more ?'s soon. By the way got an unlocked Cingular Branded 650 on EBAY in Mint condition for $389.00 shipped 3 days priority. also got the warranty for 28 bucks, hope thats not a rip! Treo looked very good, and no scratches, works for me. Also I'm using T-Mobile Internet.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new Treo. I don't think most people think there's anything wrong with Blazer per se, other than it's just not that fast and you won't be able to go to some IE-specific sites. There are other browsers out there. One I've heard mentioned a lot is Xino.
As for movies, the first thing you'll need to do is download TCPMP, The Core Pocket Media Player. Great app and it's free. You'll need to get some conversion software for your computer, to convert/shrink the movies to around 180-200 kb or so, which you'll store on your SD card. There's a really helpful tutorial at the top of the 650 forum page that will walk you through everything and you can read about people's preferences for conversion software. All in all, the process isn't difficult and you'll be watching movies on your Treo soon. Hope this helps.

Hmm. Seems like everything finds Blazer a bit slow. Has anyone tried Opera mini?

I tried it! It had a lot of potential, but the IBM java download ruined it for me! 2.2 megs was just too much for my Treo! It might have been some faster, but not enough to justify the file size . . That red border took some getting used to also . . .
