Default saving ringtones to Treo help

I tried to download some mp3 ringtones off a website and when I do the treo is giving me the option to save to either real player or my card. I want to save it to "sounds" since I don't have a SD card yet. how do I save it directly to the handset I know I have enough free space but its just not giving me that option. am I doing something wrong?

Are you sure you are downloading a ringtone? It sounds like you are downloading a MP3 file. When I have downloaded ringtones from the web to the phone they go right in with my other ringtones.

What format are they in? If I remember right, .wav is what works best on the 650, and will go into the "Tones" section.
