Default Screen Dims Constantly

I have set my Treo 650 to maintain the screen on for 3 minutes, however when reading email, contact list, etc. in a few seconds it will dim to about half the brightness. Then shortly thereafter the light will go out. You have to bring up the dial pad, contacts, or something else to get it to come back on.

How do I get it to stay on? I would rather it stay on until I physically turn it off rather than go through this dimming thing which is really a bummer when you are in the middle of something. Any help would be appreciated!

Power management is a fickle thing.

Power consumption on the Treo 650 may vary depending on what you
are doing.

Suggestions:

1. Plug in your power adapter when working on apps that consume more power..such as web browsing...or when working in an area where the signal is relatively weak.

2. "Turn off phone' and let voice maill handle calls when using apps that consume more power.

Neither of us were referring to power management. The battery life in my T650 is incredible. What we were hoping for help on in this thread is the screen dimming issue. The screen dims or goes off entirely during routine use. I hate it. I have to unlock the keyboard and touchscreen a few times a day. My K7135 had a menu in Prefs that allowed me to prevent the screen from going off at all, ever, during use. There's gotta be a hack.

How long the screen stays on has everything to do with the Treo 650's ("smart") Power Management. This may be unpleasant but that's the default setting.

Please read pages 35, 133 and **157 of the user manual to see if that helps.

Thanks for setting me straight. I get it now. Someone needs to write a hack.
