    Default SD card always formating!!

    hi,

    i have a 1gb sd card that i use this my treo. Lately, when i plug the SD card to my computer to transfer a file on or off its been tellin me to format it! i lose all my files every time!

    is the card going bad or am i doin something wrong?

    Formatting, either on a Treo or a computer, will always erase all your files. How old is your reader? Some older ones have a hard time reading newer cards. If that's the case, you may need to get a newer reader. Fortunately, the prices are way down. Many places have them for as low as $10.

    I have a "customized ROM" and use a 4gig SD card and one thing I've noticed is frequently when inserting the card prompts me to format it. If I eject the card and reinsert it usually works fine or if I soft reset the card works fine.

    I think at insertion time the Treo is a bit touchy (or the cheapo AData card is a bit flakey).

    If I insert the card somewhat quickly it usually works.
