SD card frozen/ wont format!

After recently updating my ROM to support my 4GB card, it worked fine for a few days, apart from slow transfers, but now, My phone freezes for a few moments every time I try to access my card. My card reader in my computer wont even recognize it anymore. I waited patiently until I got to the Card info screen in my Treo, and chose format, however my phone freezes when I try this, until I remove the card, and it says "format could not be completed". when i put the card back in, it now claimed I am using the full 4 GB of memory, when I was only using 1 GB before the format. I tried to format again, same freeze, now upon replacing the card, I'm using 2 GB of space. Any ideas as to what I can do? Try putting it in another treo to format? I just need some help, thanks :P

I have the same size but it show 1.9 only after the format.

Chaos:

The fact your computer doesn't see it could mean you have a bad card. Anyone else have a reader to see if they can read it or format it?

You should go back to the smaller card I think you originally said you have (known good) to test the Treo's function since you hacked the ROM.

Who knows????

Are you using a hacked (customized) ROM? If not, the Treo650 can only see 2gb at most (probably 1.7-1.9 usable). You may have overbought.

Thanks for the welcome. I got a good deal on my card. I have a friend that will give me my money back if i want it, may just buy a 2gb card and save money.

Good advice unless you feel comfortable reprogramming your treo. If your friend won't exchange you might be able to trade it on one of the newer model forums where the treos work with the 4 g cards.

Well I think my card just had a glitch. I reuploaded the original ROM and formatted the card, worked great, back to 1.7 GB. Reuploaded the custom ROM then, reformatted the card, went back to my 3.7 GB. Everything in order now. Thanks for the suggestions anyways!
