Default SD Card read speed for listening to MP3s on Sprint Treo 650

Hello all... I want to use my Sprint Treo 650 for an MP3 player. I have the little headphone dongle, but I need to get a SD card.

    1. I have researched it, and it seems that the only thing I can confirm is that the 650 can handle 2GB card - haven't seen anyone confirm that larger cards work with the device - if you know different, please let me know.

    2. Does anyone know what SPEED card I should get in order to play my MP3s directly off the card? I'm just looking for a rule of thumb like "Don't go below 50x" or something like that.

    All help appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Eric

You would need to install a custom ROM to support anything larger than 2GB. The Treo 650 only supports FAT16, which has a limit of 2GB.

A high-speed card isn't necessary. I just have a standard "blue" SanDisk card in my Treo, and I've never had any problems with my mp3s.
