    Default SD Card Size/Brand

    Hey Guys/Gals...

    HELP!???

I Just purchased a 650 Refurb and I'm patiently waiting for it to arrive. I've been reading my butt off to pass the time and I was looking into purchasing and SD card. I was originally going to purchase a 1gig SD but when finding out that you can store movies and so much more I wanted to get the 2gig.

How many movies can you fit on a 1 gig?

Does is matter what name brand/write speeds/transfer speed?

What is everything I need to know before buying an SD card??

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks..

Look at the movies you plan to install on your computer, and do the math. For simplicities sake, 1,000 MB will fit on a 1gig SD card. So if you have 2 movies, 439 MB and 497 MB, then that will be most of your capacity (just an example.)

For the Treo it won't matter what write speed card you get, jsut get the cheapest. You won't be writing to it to watch your movie and it doesn't take advantage of that speed like a high-end digital camera would.

Everything you need to know about buying an SD card for your Treo... what store has them on sale. Best Buy usually has at least one brand of SD card on sale each week.

What do I think... if you travel a lot and find yourself bored out of your mind, then maybe you would enjoy watching movies on the Treo. I personally have not watched a movie on mine and don't think I would ever see the need. The screen is small, you will have to hold it to get a nice angle (2 hours), and lots of other things I don't care to list. BUT, a large SD card can be used for other things too, if the need arose. So, in conclusion, I have a 1gb SD card and you should too. The end.

You can definitely get movies down to 200mb or so.

Thanks for the info.... I got real impatient and ended up bidding on a 1 gig SD Ultra II from eBay. I paid $71 total including shipping. I probably could have purchased a 2gig for the same price on ebay but with normal write/read speeds... O'well it's already purchased but thanks again for the info it will come in handy if I end up needing a 2gig. I'd like to have a movie or two on their incase I get stuck in a cituation like shopping with the gf.

I was reading another forum were the person said they spent a lot on the Treo... I already spent a few hundered myself.. LOL, I'm addicted to the Treo Thanks a lot guys again for the info. here and also on other threads.. I've learned a lot so far and I get my Treo Tuesday, so I'm sure you'll be seeing more posts from me.
