I picked up a 2 gig ultra sandisk for my camera @ CircuitCity last Friday for $80 with two $20 rebates! $40.00 after rebates put a big ole smile on my face!!
I guess I should've shopped around more. Half off?! Sheesh. The price I pay for impatience ($40 to be exact).

I agree; it's probably a standard card. Props, though, to stillrockin' who found a 2 x $20 off deal for the Ultra II card at Circuit Shi... er... City.

That's an excellent deal. I recently picked up a mini-SD card from Buy.com with a SanDisk rebate. I filed it right away. I find that if I leave it for a week, I end up remembering the week after the deadline. I'm sure the percentage of people who forget to file is very high.

New twist
OK, so my SD card arrives. I put it in the Treo and check the speed. "Excellent. Use any rate." Fantastic, say I to myself says I. So I format it (why I don't know, perhaps habit in a new device, compatibility, whatever), and add content. I check the speed again and I'll be damned if it doesn't come up "OK, don't go >11,000 bps." I test again and now it says "Good, don't go >22,000 bps." A third test and it says "OK" again.
Now CardSpeed may not be a perfectly reliable app, but how on earth could a branded SanDisk card drop in speed once you add data?? As they say in the South, I'm cornfuzed. I think I'll give SanDisk a call...

P.S. Plain blue card should be fine unless you're routinely tranferring lots of stuff or want to launch big apps from the card.
