Sim Card Error-Treo 650

Help! I keep getting the message, "Sim card may be missing or damaged." I think I accidentally scratched the sim card reader with a nail file. Is there a possibility I can replace the sim card reader on my Treo 650?

When I spoke to PalmOne about this problem, the company sugested I pay $300 just to have them evaluate the problem. I don't want to pay $300 for nothing.

Can anyone suggest a repair place that won't charge me $300 just to look at my Treo?

I appreciate any suggestions. I'm bummed I can't use my $600 Treo 650.

I would try another sim card (borrow one) and see if it is the card or the treo.

If it is the treo search here for online repairs. I think you will find some cheaper prices.
