Camera or Multimedia Similar Reset Loop...but different

Last night I tried to update my software to the newest version (Currently Treo650 -1.03a-VZW/ hardware B).

After the update my phone went into a similar re-set loop except it only happens when you try and turn the phone on. The old girl fully boots up and all of the applications are functional except when you try and turn it on it resets.

I tried a soft reset which didn't do anything because it does it on its own when you try and turn it on!

I tried a hard reset and that didn't fix the issue.

I then read the post about a Zero Out Reset. I've tried multiple times to do it but with no luck. I keep getting the rainbow screen which is an indication that I did it wrong.

Does anyone one have thoughts on this....am i just a useless user and can't get the reset sequence right?

    thanks!

The "rainbow screen" is the Palm bootloader. I would give the update another shot. It sounds like the update wasn't complete.

    Thanks Kreth!

I must be doing this wrong.

I either get the bootload screen or it just goes into a reset again. The only way to get out of the bootload is to do a softreset.

Just so I make sure I'm doing this right:

Press and hold up and power, then press and hold the hotsync button (while holding up and power), then press and release reset. Then release all other buttons.

The phone should "sleep" when I'm done and be completely off until it "wakes up".

Yes, that's the correct way to do a Zero Out reset. BTW, according to this page, the latest Verizon update is 1.04.

    Still no dice....

I've even had other people try it for me. What gives?

I can only get the bootload or a soft reset...

I'm on the verge of being treo parts warehouse...this is my 4th one this year all of which I still have.

I didn't know about the ZERO reset until today so I may have to try and reset an older 650 and see if that fixes any of my problems on the others.
