Skins and cases??
Just got my treo back from sprint after a casual dropped phone hitting the asphalt. I have used a leather case and a screen protector but I guess I need to look for more protection.
I assume that a skin will protect the treo in a drop situation, but will the treo and skin fit in a leather case(
my leather case)?? Any ideas out there.

I'm not so sure that a skin will protect the Treo in a hard drop. I had one, but quit using it for fear of just that. I've been using the SmartPhone Experts clear case (Everything Treo Store >> Accessories >> Cases >> Skin Cases >> Smartphone Experts ClearCase for Treo 700p, 700w, 650) and I dropped it on the ground
the day after I got it (not asphalt, but hard, rocky soil) - the case popped off, but the Treo was fine. That made me feel pretty good
- I don't plan on testing it again, though!
I just keep it in that clear case in my jacket pocket, except on days off, when I put it in a belt case instead. FWIW.

Hey Chris, Thanks for the imput. I think what you are using is what I want. It is a soft plastic/rubbery case. I thought that was what a skin was but I guess skins are hard plastic. I don't want a clip on the back, though. I want the phone and case to fit in my leather case. I tried a hard case/skin on the phone and they were a little snug in my case but they would fit.
Update I just checked out the boxwave screen protector and they have a flexy skin without the belt clip that should be prefect for me. My question now is the strip that covers the on/off and menu buttons, does it interfere with those buttons?

I just ordered the clear skin and a leather pouch to fir the treo with the skin. I also ordered the screen saver from the treo store. It states that you can remove them, I hope they work as well as my old one. Any body use the ones sold here? (three pak)

I use the BoxWave anti-glare screen protector - I think they're terrific. My first one lasted about a year, before it got too grimey and with a few scratches from my hard use. I put on my second one a few weeks ago, and it is so much better than the standard Palm screen protector that I tried. That experiment lasted about 4 hours before I couldn't stand it any more! They do come in packs of three, which should last you a long time. They say you can take them off and clean them, but I bent mine up taking it off.
Hope you like it.

Don't know about that. I should clarify that the screen protector I didn't like was the Palm-branded one. I haven't tried any of the other Box-Wave ones. You might like it. Only way is to try, I guess.

Absolutely! You're not some lousy Packers fan, are you?

I took that pic with my Treo, by the way, at my last pilgrimage to the Metrodome. Wonder how good it would look if I had the new 700P? I guess with Cingular, it'll be awhile before I get to find out...
