skins vs. covers vs. pouches

what are your thoughts on the pros/cons between skins, covers, pouches for the treo? i need to invest in something to protect this Treo 650 because i was stupid and spilt water on my first one. verizon is no help to me with adding phone insurance to this one either i'm just gonna have to be extra careful and protect it with a cover of some sort.

i like the idea of a hard shell cover, but thats just cause i'm image conscious and they look sleek & chic. i wonder if they actually protect the treo or not though? if they aren't covering the touchscreen/keyboard, are they actually protecting it? hmm or i saw a cute little pink leather pouch one?

any help would be appreciated. thanks guys.

It's a matter of personal preference. I have a Seidio holster that I really like, mainly because the screen faces in. Some of the form-fit cases and skins have covers for the screen. Most leave the keyboard exposed.
