SMS app doesn't confirm msg delivery

Hi, folks.

I just received a TREO 650 replacement from Asurion and transferred all of my data and SMS messages over without a problem. I used the HotSync Manager to do the transer.

The only hitch seems to be with the SMS application: all of the text messages I've sent from the *new* 650 remain greyed out instead of turning black (to confirm delivery). As far as I can tell, the messages are being delivered... the Chat tab in the SMS app just isn't marking them as sent. It's a pretty minor issue, I guess, but it's driving me a little nuts.

Anyone know what's causing this problem or what I can do to fix it? I'm on VzW, by the way.

I never even knew that the message turning black was a confirmation of delivery. Are you sure. Suppose if someones phone is off and hasnt yet recieved the message on his phone then shoudnt it remain greyed till he switches on and recieves it. I think it turns black to confirm delivery to the said server and not the phone itself. More clarity on the facts would be helpful.
