Default sms reply = reboot

interesting one here.

treo 650 on Orange (uk provider)

this has happened 4 times now. on receiving an sms, i've read it, pressed Respond/reply buttons only to get a re-boot. confused i tried the same again-same response. same on using pull down menu choices. deleted the email and did the same for another sms- normal. ignored it. same again happened a week later. only to original sms (no in chat mode). local numbers.

any ideas?

Is there any pattern, like it always happens replying to an sms from the same number? Is this number associated with a contact you have in your address book? If it's not a known contact, then I can only assume that there is a corruption in a database solely used by the sms application.

It's hard to say what the right thing to do would be. If you don't mind losing your stored SMS messages, I would try starting from scratch with the SMS application.

You'll need to use a file manager to delete 2 files from internal memory. A good free file manager is Filez. The 2 files to delete are "SMS Messages2" and "Messages Database", which will get rid of all your stored SMS messages.
