Default So sprint says my device is un-repairable and making contacts irretrievable-HELP!!!

So if you take the battery cover off and take the battery itself out, you will find a bronze colored -six pronged piece that carries the battery charge to the device itself. This piece is in the bottom corner of the battery bed on the same side as the ateana-OK so now you hopefully you know what I'm speaking about.

Yesterday I took the battery out since it mysteriously turned off, as if the battery had died. After taking battery out to see what was the problem, this little piece fell to the ground. My device will not take a charge nor keep that charge-This means I cannot get to my contacts. I have my all my business contacts and since this piece had fallen out the Sprint store says there is no way I ca possible n retrieve any info from my device again.

Has anyone every had this issue and what was the outcome?

Since It will not power up at all, I cannot retrieve any info from my device. I am wondering if this piece can be affixed back in place or if i send it to the palm (treo) company can they even retrieve my info if my battery is non responsive due to the damage. Can the Palm company itself hotwire my devise to retrieve this info if the piece is actually un-repairable

I appreciate all messages.

I plan to buy a new phone i just want my contacts--boo hooo

Thanks for you help
Michelle

Hi Michellybell:

Does this mean you haven't been syncing with a PC? Your contacts should have been backed up, no?

Michellybell:

Sorry to hear that bad news. I don't know if Palm can do anything, but I have seen some very good reports on a guy out in Minnesota. You might take a look at his eBay store and email him about your problem:

He appears to have a 100% positive rating. Hopefully he can help you out, maybe even repair it instead of just pulling data and having to buy a new one.

I hope this helps,

sounds very much like a little dab of solder might sort most of ur problems! hope u get an solution.

i know it's silly but have u tried just putting the bit back in, putting the battery in and seeing if it'll charge? if it's an electrical thing the contact may be all u need.
