    Default Software problems

I'm not sure if this is a treo problem or a pc problem but here it goes. I have been trying to install the palm software (verizon) onto my newly built pc. The pc runs fine until I install the palm software and then reboot as required. After reboot, my system states that the system/config file is corrupt or missing. Has anyone else ever ran into this problem when installing the palm software? I know the software is good because it installed on my laptop okay. I don't know if something is configured wrong in my pc or what. It may be my cradle also. The cradle is a charge/sync one and when I plugged it into the pc, windows didn't recognize it or request any drivers. It's been a real painn because I can't use my pc to sync with my treo. Please let me know if you have ever encountered this. Thanks

It sounds as if there is a problem with your PC - considering it works on the laptop.

I'm a Mac guy, but I don't believe you'd need drivers for a cradle. If you've successfully installed on your laptop, try syncing to that. Then at least, you would confirm that it's your PC.

I'm able to sync to my laptop without any problems. That's what is frustrating. I wanted to be able to do both because the pc has personnal stuff on it where the laptop is for work. I can't figure out why windows XP crashes everytime I install the software on my pc. It works fine on my laptop (Windows 2000).

I would not recommend syncing with 2 different PC's. Each PC may use a different conduit and therefor create probelms for syncing. Use one computer and leave it at that. I learned trying to use it to sync with 2 pc's was a nightmare. You can always beam or email whatever files you want.

I don't agree with not syncing to 2 different computers. I sync to both my home computer and my work computer. There are settings and conduit differences, but I've never run into a problem. It can be done.
