Default Some Advice On Palm Spare Battery

My Treo came with a spare battery. Its nearly a year now and the spare is just stored safely. Will that battery lose its life cycles or turn into a dud because its been left uncharged/unused for so long. Or do you think i should swap the batteries every 6 months. So that both are used to their maximum. Will this upkeep their shelf life ?

I like to swap my spares every so often, or at least throw the spare in the cradle to top off.

So it does make a difference to at least charge the spare maybe one in a quarter and then store away right Kreth ?

    Happy New Year !

That should be ok. I just like to keep mine topped off on a regular basis after a couple bad experiences with spare camera batteries losing charge after not being topped off for a while.

    Happy New Year !
Same to you, although we celebrated a couple of weeks ago here in NY. :tounge:

Let me wait until I'm consistently writing 09 instead of 08 before I start worrying about 2010. :tounge:

If you plan on storing your battery for future use, it is highly recommended to store the battery at partial charge. Batteries are not intended to be stored for more than one year because they will start to have permanent damage to the lithium ion cells that will accumulate over time. If you have multiple batteries for an application, rotate the batteries regularly. Always store batteries in a cool, dry place away from heat and metal objects.

I use spare batteries for my Palm 700p and keep them rotating. I have found that it is easier to travel with a spare battery than a more bulky charger.

I have currently started doing something similar. Im thinking about using each battery for a quarter alternately. Will this help ? How often do you rotate your spares ?
