Sounds for texts

I have made different ringers for my contacts using the favorite options. Is there a way to make different ringers for text messages for each person?

have you looked in your manual or done a search for threads in the ET forums? I ahve done a small search and not come up with anything but will keep looking. I suspect that if you dont find it in the manual that you may need to look at add on software. You might look at Iambic's product your call go to iambic.com and look under palm os software. It might be what you. Kepp us posted as to your progress to solution.

No, that program isnt really what im looking for, thanks though. I thought you could set different ringtones for texts for different people but i guess not.

this is something i would have liked but not seen anything around.

to be honest my little treo makes so many different noises now i'm not quite sure what they all individually mean any longer!

Only way I have found, is by using a program called ringo. It lets me assign a specific person w/ their own individual ring tone, SMS ring tone and a picture.

Both Ringo and mRing will do that for you. Also, CallFilter will, but it doesn't seem to be supported by the developer anymore. Do a trial of the programs first, to see how they work for you.
I've had good luck with Ringo, though I had to monkey around with it a bit till I got it doing what I wanted. I now have different sounds for SMS from different people/groups.
