Okay, I am a current verizon customer. Just got a T650 a week ago. I have another week to "think about" my purchase and get out of my contract without penalty. My question is in all your combined experience which carrier Verizon or Sprint is best?
I am looking for an email client that WORKS. Verizon's wireless sync has gotten me pretty frustrated. Is Sprint's this complicated and/or crash prone? error prone? Plus, 45 bucks a month for crappy data service kind of bites. I like the 15 a month for sprint, but don't want worse service (email) than my current Verizon.
Everyone in my family is on Verizon. I'm the only holdout on Sprint. I got my service first with my Treo 300 and am now beholden to them as I cannot give up the unlimited data plan for less than 8 bucks a month! (At the time I signed up it was $10/month and I got a company discount from the place I work at for about 22%, hence the less than $8/month unlimited date number!) If I gave that up, I'd be paying what you're paying for through Verizon. My kids say I should switch so the calls between us would be free. I remind them that they never come anywhere near burning their included minutes up to see any savings if I had to pay $37 more a month for what I have with Sprint! They still don't get it. But then, they don't pay the bills!
If you're going to use the dat thing a lot, definitely go with Sprint. Though Verizon has better coverage, I haven't had any real issues with connection quality with my Sprint service.
Thanks for the input. That is my big beef. Swallowing 45 bucks for data. Ouch. vs. 15. So as long as Sprint's Data plan isn't inferior to the already inferior Verizon, I'd probably do it. Any issues on the Sprint 650 vs the Verizon 650? Hardware/Software etc.??? I don't want my phone resetting every day.
I'm not famiiar with the Verizon T650, so I can't comment. My Sprint T650 is a refurb and after a week, it has been going strong. Refurbs sometimes are better, because they fix faulty ones and make sure they're dialed in. At least that's what I keep telling myself!
I have the classic story, albeit, I should be ashamed to admit it. Was with Sprint since the Treo 300 and had the Grand Daddy of all plans , 3000 unlimited minutes PCS Vision INCLUDED @ $125.00 per month!!!!! Because I travel the country and was told Verizons' coverage was better, which might be true if you'r using a tri mode phone that can switch between digital and analog networks, I made the switch. After 6 weeks I see NO difference in coverage and my monthly bill is now $185.00 per month for 2500 unlimited minutes ($140 for voice and $44.95 for unlimited PDA(data).
I"ve made the decision to go back to Sprint as soon as I can find a "Deal" on the T 650. Anyone one out there that can lead me to a Sprint T650 at a GREAT price, I will be forever in your debt
I just purchased my t650 for verizon yesterday, and the one thing I didnt like about them is the 44 dollar data plan. I see myself switching that very soon....
Just a heads up. Verizon is selling the t650 for 299 (after an instant advanced device credit) I took that to sprint and they are willing to match that price and match the offer of a free bluetooth headset (100 value). So that is a smoking deal in my opinion.

What type of Bluetooth headset do you get that's valued at $100?

I got the new motorola one from Verizon (flip out boom mike). Took it back for the "in-ear" jabra. (much better). I don't know which one sprint was going to give me (still with Verizon, probably switching to Sprint. will find out today)
Does anyone have issues with the 650 ear speaker crackling every few seconds? This kinda bugs. Sounds like there is a blown speaker (if that makes sense) ahhhh.
has anyone tried the VZ treo 650 at buy.com? it seems to me that data plan is not mandatory, which is good for me. but i heard that even is you dont choose data plan, VZ will automatically add it for u upon activation, is this true? could someone confirm about this please? another question is if i have no date plan with VZ, doest it mean i have no access to the internet with my phone? actually i prefer a pay-by-KB(data) service. which carriers have this kind of service? and price and speed?(i use internet for checking emails) and if i dont need data plan, does it mean i will only want to go with sprint? and what is the minimum price of sprint data plan?
Thank you guys ! lucky that i found this great forum :D
