Sprint Treo 650
With photos of the new Sprint Treo 650 released, it appears that it's only a matter of time before we see the release of the new Treo. My money on mid-September? It looks like Sprint is going with the silver PalmOne Treo as opposed to the charcoal of previous Treo's. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't standardize the color of the 650. I always thought the silver Treo 600 looked more high end than the Sprint. Then again, I'm sure there are those if liked the charcoal. Either way, it appears as if the 650 will be silver. The screen appears to be hi-resolution as expected -- call / hang up hard buttons.

Hi Chris ~ So much T650 info since yesterday,
I missed something obvious.
Not unusual for me ;)
- I thought the Treo 650 Pics are of a GSM Unit
- I wasn't aware of any official T650 Info. - PR or Other
I don't mean to be a pain, but,
Could you post a Sprint Link or point me at some other Sprint info?
Thanks very much. ~ Carl

Carl-
Looks like I got caught up in the hype as well. I've seen a few sites that have mentioned Sprint in relation to the 650. With Sprint in line to release first, I just assumed we were looking at the Sprint Treo 650. Further review shows the SIM card. Count me among the many who are excited about the new Treo. Actually, the fact that we are seeing a GSM based model is a good thing. Hopefully, the rollout of GSM will occur shortly after Sprint. I would think Sprint would be first.
Will they continue with the gun metal grey?
Anyone care to post pics of the Sprint Treo 650? :o

treo 650
Chris,
Are you hearing anything about a CDMA treo 650? I am right on the edge of getting a new treo 600 from Verizon, but might wait until the 650 comes. Although.......I dont wanna wait the usual long lag time that verizon has. Any thoughts??

I'm guessing that we'll see Sprint first and then the usual suspects to follow (Cingular, T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon). That being said, the delays on the release of the 600 on the Verizon network were do to the testing required by Verizon to certify phones they sell. The fact they just started selling 600's doesn't bode well for a quick release of the 650. My guess, and it's nothing more than an educated guess, is that Verizon will release the 650 around December/January timeframe. I was waiting for the 650, but gave in back in July and I'm real happy.

Will Sprint be the only carrier ?

Expect all the carriers to have the Treo 650. That being said, I'd be surprised if Sprint weren't the first to carry it with the others to follow. It's anyone's guess on how long the lag time from the release of the 650 on Sprint to T-Mobile, AT&T, Cingular and Verizon. The good news is you'll have a lot of choices. You may just have to wait if there's a particular carrier you prefer.

Sprint Employee Dishes
Okay, I thought I might shed a little light on the Treo 650 for all of you curious concumers. I work for Sprint and this is what I know so far. The Treo is scheduled to launch with Sprint first. It is not GSM, it will have bluetooth, and it will come out in October. We have no idea of any price points yet, but I will keep you all posted. We have already started to receive accessories for it in the store so it won't be long.

I just read on another Treo site which had a link (Howard) saying Cingular would have it in November as well. I would imagine a GSM and CDMA launch could take place at the same time. I hope so. I travel abroad frequently and a quad-band Treo 650 would really be helpful.
Best,
Bill
