Default Storage on SIM card? and other problems

I'm Treo challanged and have a several questions and would appreciate any comments, solutions or even creative heckling.

I've exchanged my phone and got the refurbished one today. My problems were:
1) Constantly lost signal even when there were several bars of signal
2) Phone shuts off all the time on it's own
3) Can't sync up anymore and all my contacts are on the phone. When I switch the SIM card to the new phone I don't see the contacts (I just added a 128 card but have nothing on it). How can I get the contacts if I can't sync up. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling program to no avail.

Otherwise I love the phone. Thanks in advance.

Hi ya!

Are you still having these issues after you got the replacement phone?

Default contact information

The problems were sporatic. Don't know if they are still present as I just got the replacement today. Tried switching the SIM card but see no contacts. The information therein is more valuable to me than the phone itself.

I guess I assumed the SIM card was the storage for the contacts, but obviously not. Where is the contact information held? The Treo lady on the phone said she was not sure.

My main question is how to get my contacts onto the new phone. The rest of the issues I can deal with later. I can't 'see' the contact information when I hook my phone to my laptop (by USB) the way I can when I hook up an SD Card reader for instance.

Any ideas?

You can store name & numbers on the SIM, but I wouldn't recommend it.

If you've got the contacts on the laptop then you just need to sync the new phone w/your computer.

If not, then you can:
-> Beam all the contacts from phone to phone.
(There is a beam category[all] option)

-> Backup to a SD card and restore to the new phone w/that SD card.

-> Manually put in the info from phone to phone.

Hope that helps.

Oh, btw, the contact information is not stored on the SD card, it's stored on the Treo's internal memory.

Default SD Card?

Don't mean to bug you - but how do I save contact info to SD card? I have a 128 card but with nothing on it. Can't seem to sync to the computer.

Thanks in advance for your tech wisdom.
