String of dead treos + not being able to restore data.
Hello folks! My first treo 650 last about two years before I had any minor problems with it, and it seemed to be pretty rugged, but recently there was a storm and somehow the lightning killed the phone. Got a new one from the insurance and was able to get all my information back no problem.
That was on my desktop, which I nearly immediately backed up, and then transferred over to Vista 64bit (awesome by the way).
I then started syncing my phone to my laptop, because I use it for work more than the desktop. So about a week ago the new phone ceased to turn on. so I get yet another one from insurance. But this time when I go to sync it up and get all my data back, it syncs fine, but nothing is put on the phone. scratching my head, I notice that it created a new profile for some reason, so I delete it, but for some reason it keeps being created every time I sync it. Also, for some reason all my old data is missing from palm desktop.
So now I'm at the place where it's worth while to figure out how to get the sync data from the backup of my old OS and try to figure out how to put it on the phone.
Did some googling, and haven't found anything helpful, so I'm hoping there's a guru out there that could help me.
Also, is there any way to nuke the data on the phone that one turn on? I have sensitive work information on it, and if there's a way to somehow wipe it, I'd like to.
TLDR:
Need to put sync data from old computer onto phone using new computer. Ideas?

ARGH!
So miraculously I got my old phone to boot, and decided to sync it to the laptop on another profile to see if I could get the data off it
Well I'll be damned. the PC got set somehow to overwrite the handset. so it nuked everything..
It's official, next phone is going to be an HTC.
