Synced and all is gone

One of our staff members is using a Treo 650. We have him setup with versamail to receive his email and calendar from our Exchange server, wirelessly. The problem we are having is when he plugs his Treo into his laptop to sync, his email and calendar are cleared and emptied. When we sync over the air we receive his email again and his calendar is back in place. Is there some sort of versamail setting we need to change? Or is his Treo going bad? We have him configured to not sync to the exchange server through his computer, until this problem is resolved.

It sounds like you need to disable his mail and calendar conduits for the normal Hotsync. If he's a Windows user, right-click on the Hotsync manager in the system tray, then click on Custom. Edit the "Versamail" and "Calendar (Outlook)" conduits. Set the action to "Do nothing" and make sure the "Set as default" box is checked.
