    Default Syncing problem

Alright, well..I just got my Treo 650 a few days ago. I installed the Palm Desktop software that came with it. However I'm running into some problems. When transferring to my SD card, small files and pictures transfer over fine. Larger files such as mp3s or Quicktime videos, though, cause my phone and computer to freeze during synchronization, and I'm not sure as to why, seeing as how smaller files work fine. Most mp3s hit about 3%, then freeze. I've let it sit to see what happens, and it jumps from that 3% to synchronizing mail, and etc, but very slowly, then tells me the sync operation has been interrupted even if I haven't touched the computer or phone. I have to unfreeze my computer then, and remove my phone battery to get it unfrozen. Any ideas as to why it's acting up with certain files?

I would break down and get a card reader for around $10.00 and transfer files to your card that way. Don't know why it is not syncing for you since most stuff does but large files don't transfer. unless the large file (s) are corrupt or not formatted correctly, but even so they should go to your card.

I've tried numerous different files, all do the same except smaller ones. I've found that it does the same thing even when I use PocketTunes to sync with Windows Media Player. It even stops at the same percentage (3%). I have no idea what's up with that marker and why it can't get past it without forcing me to remove my phone battery.

Movie files that are about 7 MB copy fine to the Treo memory. I've got one on there and some other stuff with about 7 MB left, but its been like this since I had full Treo memory. On the chip, it's a 1 GB and I've got about 964 MB free.

You might try a different usb connection and make sure your cord is plugged in good. Someone had problems with the front usb connection and had to use the ones on the back of their pc.

But wouldn't that make it so all transfers wouldn't work? Apps and small files go on fine. Could a loose cable make some transfers work and not others?

I would not think so but I believe the problem with the ports is sometimes they work and sometimes they don't so I threw the suggestion out there.

Tried it; nothing different. However, I did register my PocketTunes, and for some reason, I can now get about 60% of every file I attempt to transfer, but it still forces me to remove my battery every time. I have no idea what this thing is up to.

the manual or user guides for the 650 700 750 all say that you should use either a powwered hub or the back usb ports on your computer as they have the power needed to do the transfer or whatever you are using the usb for.
