Default TCPM# problem

I downloaded the program and can play music. I e-mailed a video file in asf format. The file is there and when I click on it it will save in photoplugin (somewhere) but does not play or open? Anybody help me. (Lost)

When you downloaded the software, did you get the plugins? And did you download a recent version?

I downloaded version 0.7.1 whick shows to be the latest. I thought the plug ins were included in the files. How do I find them? On the page under the version I downloaded I paged down and found plug ins for other devices. Which plug ins do I need? Or are for the treo?

Go back to the TCPMP download page and you'll find the list of plugins. The most common are probably these 3:
http://www.everythingtreo.com/TCPMP/...eg4_plugin.prc
http://www.everythingtreo.com/TCPMP/...eg4_plugin.prc
http://www.everythingtreo.com/TCPMP/...eg4_plugin.prc
That should get you going. If not, check out this helpful tutorial thread from Bernard here in the forum:

Sorry, I copied them from the thread here in the forum I was referring to. That's what I get for trying to take a shortcut. Bottom line, uninstall TCPMP, then go back to the TCPMP download site. Download again, making sure you include the mp3, mpeg1 and mpeg4 plugins and you should be good to go.

I feel pretty stupid. I believe I did not extract the files(unzip) before I installed them on the palm. I think they will work now if not I'll be back.......

Still having problems....Can you open attachments and play from an e-mail or do you have to save on the computer and move it to your palm.

Can't do that either saved the video clip .asf to handheld and I can't find where the file is to play. I have looked into the menu to find files and that file is no where to be found. Any Ideas??

What type of attachment? DocsToGo will help with MS Office-type stuff. You have to make sure you've got the entire attachment downloaded first, regardless of the file type. There are also lots of other apps out there for reading .pdf's and all kinds of other stuff.

If you saved a movie, it would be on your SD card. Or are you talking something smaller, like a TV show or music video?

What type of attachments are you talking? DocsToGo will help with MS Office-type files. And there are other apps out there to help with .pdf and many other file types. Just be sure the attachments are completely downloaded.
