TCPMP Crashes My Treo
Hello there Treo friends,
I have been watching some ripped dvds on my Treo via the TCPMP. The videos are stored on my card. After about 30 to 45 minutes of viewing, when I stop the video and go back to my main menu, my Treo crashes with an error message "fatal exception." It wouldn't be so bad, but if my phone rings with watching a video, I am able to answer the call, say hello and then the Treo resets.
Has anyone experienced the same or have any suggestions.
Thanks,
Target

Some people, myself included, have had a couple problems going from TCPMP to other applications. It's generally fixed by closing the movie prior to exiting TCPMP. As far as being interrupted by a call, one solution may be to turn the phone off when you know you're going to watch a movie, sending your calls to voicemail, if that's acceptable in your situation. If not, how aboout ignoring the call, exiting TCPMP, then calling them back?

Thank you for your reply and I am sorry I have not been in the system for a while.
I don't really have the option of turning off my phone during the day. As I am sure with many of you, I live on it and depend on it for my company's communication. I have tried stopping the video and then going back to the menu, with no luck. It only happens when I go over about 45-minutes of viewing (on the eliptical running at the gym) and not consistantly.
Thanks, for the reply and I'll keep you posted.

How much free memory do you have on your Treo? That may be part of the problem.

Did you ever get this resolved?? I have the same issue and it drives me nuts! Thanks.

Old thread but have you tried to remove tcpmp and then reinstall it. Have you checked your memory like Kreth suggested?
You might take your media stuff off the card and try a different video to see if it still resets.....maybe your video is causing a problem.

Hello all,
Still have the issue. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling a couple of different versions. No luck. Only seems to happen when I go over 40-minutes of continous viewing.
I have about half the memory on the Treo available. (8-10Megs & over 500 on my 2Gig SD card.) I am constantly changing the video I watch. I pull shows from my Tivo to watch as I run on the treadmill. I also watch movies I pull down from DVDs.
Thanks for the posts.

Hey, Target. Sorry to hear that you're still having issues. I have tried everything I know of short of a hard reset. Have you tried that yet? I have to assume it's a conflict with a third party app, but I don't want to hard reset unless I really have to. Besides, I have already deleted any third party apps I don't use. Those that remain are:
Chords (guitar chord generator)
DateBk6
Documents to Go v.8.003
Resco Explorer
KeyCaps600
MyBible
PasswordsPlus
Patience
Pocket Tunes v.3.1.5
RealPlayer (never use - wich I could delete it!)
RescoView
Ringo
TCPMP v.0.72RC1
Video Jigsaw
VolumeCare Pro v.5.59
WordWiggle
See any similarities with your set up?

Hey Blank,
No, I have not tried a hard reset. I hate too.
Yes there are some apps in your list I use.
-My Bible - installed after TCPMP problems
-Docs to Go 8. I think this is causing my issues. I have issues with it alot.
-Real Player
-Volume Care Pro v.5.59

Hey, Target. Going on the Docs to Go theory, I'm going to move Docs to Go to a different card than what I save my videos to. I'll let you know what happens.
