Default tempermental stylus / touchscreen

i was just wondering if there are any quick fixes for a treo 650 whose touchescreen & stylus kind of "act up" on occasion.... mainly the top menu bar.... for example, when you want to "copy" & "paste" stuff from SMS, i have to repeatedly tap the stylus (about 5-6x) on the top of the screen to get the menu to come down. or also, when i have messages/missed calls, the little blue blinking star icon on the top left corner rarely "responds" when i tap it the first time. this will be my 2nd treo 650, the other one never gave me problems like this. i wonder if there is a way to "reset" the stylus or something?

Open Preferences, then Touchscreen. That will let you recalibrate your sreen.

Hello Chrissy,

This is Kevin from Palm. As Jeff suggests, recalibrating the touchscreen would be the first thing to do. If there continues to be an issue, here are two more troubleshooting steps, taken from the Palm Knowledge Library article "Calibrating your touchscreen (digitizer)":

Do you use an adhesive screen protector? A screen protector which is trapped under the screen edge may interfere with touchscreen calibration. Occasionally, just having the screen protector on the screen can cause the issue. Try removing the screen protector.

You may have debris trapped under the edge of the screen. Use the corner of a piece of thin, stiff paper (copier paper works well) to very gently slide all around the edge of the screen. Don't let the corner of the paper travel more than an eighth of an inch under the screen edge frame. By doing this, you may be able to dislodge small particles of debris trapped under the frame.

Sincerely
Kevin

I do not have a screen protector on my 600 and I always have to recalibrate. Once I recalibrate it works great for about 10 minutes and then I either have to tap below or above the icon I want to select. Once I recalibrate, it works again for about another 10 minutes. Very annoying.
