You have to load the states as a package. (You'll see an option to load, e.g., VA + DC + MD + etc.) You may end up having to load some states that you don't want this way, but it's the only way I know of that will work. I live in Virginia, but frequently travel to DC and MD, as do most people in the metro DC area, so I ran into the same problem that you did at first. Make sure you have a big enough SD card to load all the maps you'll want.
The other option would be to load the destination state from wherever your home is, and then just cruise the interstates the old fashioned way (i.e., paper map). I've done that for long trips, as I don't really need Tom Tom to tell me how to get to Indiana from Virginia, and wouldn't want the Treo on that whole time anyway. Your needs might be different, though. |
