    Default touch screen problems

I got a Palm Treo 650 off of ebay the other day my touch screen stopped working all of a sudden. It also freezes alot. I JUST got this phone and haven't installed any third party software or anything of that sort. For instance, if I try to use the option button when in an application it will freeze. What is the deal?

I would return it and get my money back...if you cannot then you might try a business card and go around the edges of your screen to see if there is gunk pressing on it. Have you done a hard reset on the phone to clear it back to factory.

Do the buttons (option) feel like they are sticking??? Contact cleaner and pressing the buttons repeatedly may free them up.

yea I'm returning it for another one. I tried everything that everyone has told me to do to get it to work. When I did a hard reset it is just stuck on the screen telling you to tap the center of the target with you stylus... and being that my screen doesn't work, the phone is useless now. But I do get to exchange it and if that one f's up then I'm just going to get my money back.

Did you try plunker's business card suggestion? There could be some grit under the edge of the screen which would make the digitizer think that section was always being pressed.

Hey guys thanks for this email even though it is old it is exactly what I needed, the business card thing did the trick for my dead screen.
