Default Touchpad stopped working

I've had my T650 for about 2 weeks and since I'm new to Palm products, I'm a bit overwhelmed by all of the features.

I'm afraid this is not a problem with the user however.

The touchpad stopped working. I remove/replace the battery and still no touchpad.

After a few operations using the buttons only, the buttons stop working as well.

The device locks up 100% of the time after reboot and the touchpad never works.

Is there any way to reinstall the phone software in this severly degraded mode, or am I looking at a full phone replacement?

Have you tried a hard reset or a warm reset????

Does the treo boot up at all or automatically reset right after turning it on?

I had the same problem, Contacted TREO service reps, We attempted to reformat and still didn't work. Told me to return for an exchange. Do it quick before the warranty runs out!

Lightbulb fixed it

you're all going to love this one. It seems as though the problem was related to the screen protector. I jammed screen protector into the corner of the touchpad just prior to all of the problems I was experiencing. When I removed the screen protector, the phone works fine.....derrrrr

Smile You're positively brilliant!

Thank you so much!! I love my Treo and take such good care of it. I was playing poker on it in bed last night and absent-mindedly made sure the screen protector wasn't peeling up in the corners. This morning the touchpad wasn't working. Even when the phone rang, the ring was cut short (though the call was still there). I have tried resetting all day!! After reading your post I immediately took off the protector and VOILA!!!! everything is fine!

YEAH!!! - Liz

Default Yes!

Thank you!!

My touchpad was not working either and after reading about your protector interfering with the touchpad I realized I had some dirt around the edges. A brief swipe with a business card to free some of it and bingo...it starting working again. I guess if there is pressure from something (screen protector, dirt, sand, etc) it will cause your touchpad to "stop working." Thank you so much! I really didn't want to deal with verizon again!
