Transfer From SD Card to Phone - Treo Forums

I was wondering what i have to go to transfer an mp3 file from my sd card into my tones catagory so that i can play it as a ringtone... i have accidentially done it before, but cant remember how i did it.. lol

You need a file manager like filez to move the mp3 file from your card to the ringtone folder.

I also think you have to make the mp3 into a ringtone before it will work.

I cut up the mp3 and made it less than 30 seconds... i set up filez and set everything up... but when i try to transfer the mp3 to my device i get this error "There was an error during copy; stopping" what does this mean? (other than something went wrong)

you mean that i have to put the mp3 into the ringtone format before it will work... if so which format is that? is it the MIDI?

I'm not sure exactly how you were creating the ringtone, but maybe this thread can give you a little help.

I am using wavepad as the other thread suggests, but when i put my newly created mp3 on my sd card and try to transfer it over to my device, i get an error...

I read kdallens link above and I believe it said you have to install the tone directly to the treo not the card. You might reread it, I may be mistaken.

I know this is not what you are asking because it is a 3rd party software to buy but... to end frustration and ease of use the RingoPro is what I am useing. You can get it on this website for $29.95. If you want different mp3 ringtones for different people this is an very easy way to do it. I am extremely pleased with mine and the ease of use.

Is there a place where i can get a free trial for a couple days... i dont mind spending the money, but i want to make sure that i like the program first before i spend..
