Default Treo 650 and .Mac settings

I'm trying to set up my Treo 650 on a .Mac email account. I'm able to receive messages but not send. Obviously have the wrong settings to send messages.

Here is what I have so far:

    -imap setting
    -my user name (email prefix)
    -Outgoing server: smtp.mac.com
    -Port 993
    -SSL (not checked)
    -Use authentication ESMTP (Checked)
    -Password assigned

    Any help is appreciated

Default Here's how I got .mac account set

    Hi,

I have a .mac account and here's the settings that worked without any guesswork:

    Servers:
    Incoming: POP3
    mail.mac.com Port 110
    Don't use SSL Security

    Outgoing: SMTP
    smtp.mac.com Port 25
then your user name and password that you use on your Mac.

Under settings, check "Include this account when receiving all."
DO NOT check "Send Authentication Required."
DO NOT check "Always BBC sent messages"

Hopefully, this should work...let me know!

Leone, thanks but I couldn't get it to work. I seem to remember that port 25 doesn't work on Verizon? Anyway, here are my settings again, all of them. Maybe I'm doing something simple like putting in the wrong user name:

-Account name: rsnbrgr (I assume here they don't wan't my entire .mac email name which is rsnbrgr@mac.com

    -Mail service: Apple Mac

    -Protocol: IMAP

-username: rsnbrgr (again I don't use my entire .mac email)

    -Password: my normal password

    Outgoing mail server: smtp.mac.com

    Port: 25

-No check marks on ssl or "use authentication"

    Default Hmmm...that could be it!

I have Verizon wireless as well and Port 25 works fine...I have a hunch it could be your user name...its has to be your user name with the "@mac.com" Try that and see if it works.
