| treo 650 and sd cards I like my 650 so far but I am getting frustrated over the fact that I have bought 2 different brand SD card and both of them have write-protection on them straight out of the box. I have even tried moving the little tab on the side of both of them and that doesnt work. The cards are Sandisk and Lexar and both of them are 1gb each, is there another way to remove the write-protection?? I pop them into my card reader to copy some files to the card and I get an error message saying that the card has write protection.
I have looked in the forums for answers but have been unsuccessful....any help is greatly appreciated |

| you probably need to format the card right out of the box which is what you should do anyway. that might fix your problem. |

I leave my 1 gig in the Treo but I've never had your problem with any of the 4 I have. Out of curiosity, where did you buy them? I only ask because there was a run of counterfeit cards making the rounds on eBay a little while back. I'd call SanDisk and Lexar and verify the cards are legit. If they are, even though the odds would seem to be against it, they may both be bad and you may need to exchange them both.

| I bought the Sandisk at Radioshack and the Lexar at Microcenter. When you say format, you mean to format the card from the format option on the Treo or my pc? |

Put the card in the Treo 650. From the applications menu, select "Card Info", hit the menu button, and then select "Format Card". Sorry, I misunderstood earlier, I thought your cards had been formatted.

If that doesn't do it, I'd recommend returning. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

| maybe this will help:
My Treo recognizes my card as "Lexar Media" and when I insert it I was able to copy a picture I took with my Treo. I took the card out and put it in my pc card reader, I open it and there is the picture in the DCIM folder.
Can anyone tell me what is going on here??
Do I need a cradle or a usb cable to connect the Treo to my PC? |

You took the picture, copied to the card and you can view the picture from your PC with your reader, right? DCIM is the folder where your "media" stuff should be. Quote: |
