Default Treo 650 Battery door

Hi,

I've bought a Verizon Treo 650 and love it, but have had to reset it a few times. Which is fine, takes less then a minute.

However, my problem is, I only have solid use out of one hand, so to get the battery door off, I need someone else to do it for me since you have to hold the button while pulling the door off.

Is there another way around this, or can anyone make any suggestions as to what I could do?

Thanks,

Jamie

I know this sounds destructive.. but.. depending on how you are with your device and if you keep it in a holster, case or what not.. you could always just break off the little locking tab from the battery cover.. if I hold my button in, I find that the battery door is fairly "stiff" still (while holding release button in). This may work for you. (even if you do this, if you hold the phone by just the battery door, the weight is still on the other 4 tabs that hold the door to the treo so it's no going to let the phone go anywhere).

The only other thing I can think of... (and just cause I can do this does not mean that everyone can but..) If I put the phone, screen side down on my leg or against my chest while sitting, I am able to use my index finger (nail if you have one) to push and hold the button while using my middle finger to slide the cover off.. all with one hand (and I did it with both hands, except not using both hands at the same time).. That's something else to try.

This is a much better way then destroying the casing. You can purchase zLauncher which has, among other things, a way to do a soft reset from the dropdown menu (at least the Mac OS X Tiger skin does).

Saw someone suggest elsewhere, drill thru the battery cover. Haven't tried it myself.

That's what I would recommend. Easy and non-destructive.
