Default Treo 650 case gsm to cdma

I was looking at ordering a new case for my cdma phone. I was wondering if a gsm case would work. I like the look and feel but I make sure it will work before I do it. If it will not work what is the difference?

    Thanks

    Yes, the cases will interchange.

I changed my original CDMA case on my Treo 650 (getting a little worn out) with an all black GSM case (SIM card slot). Case fits perfectly. I cut off the back of the SIM slot door and glued it on from the inside (to keep things neet looking neet). Easy to do and it looks great.

Good deal. What do you mean about glueing the slot cover? Does it stay open without a card in it?

The SIM cardholder is kind of like a little "drawer". On the GSM Treo there is slot for it (the drawer) to "slide in on". With the CDMA model part of the motherboard is in the way. All I did is cut off the back of the drawer and glue the face on. I glued it form inside (before assembling the case) so the glue would not be visiable. Think of the SIM "drawer" as being like the type of kitchen drawer you would buy @ Home Depot. There are 2 parts. The drawer itself and the face (the part you attach the handle to so you can open the kitchen drawer). You need to separate them as the SIM card "drawer" is one piece. Use a small sharp knife (x-acto type) and cut the front off. Then glue the front part in place where it would normally go (without the "drawer" part). Quite easy. You are actually just making it look like the SIM card is in place, without there actually being a SIM card. Actually easier than changing the case itself. And changing the case is very easy. Good luck - if you have any more questions, post away. Cheers.
