Treo 650 (Cingular) Rebooting while syncing

Hello,

I have an end user whos Treo reboots part way into an Oracle Calendar sync. We use Sundial out here, and his Treo had stopped updating entries while doing a Quick Sync. I tried to do a Full Sync, and here is the problem:

While doing a full sync, the conduit verifies what entries are on the Treo, then it goes to "Resolving Conflicts" (basically it checks all the entries on the calendar server and compares them with the entries on the Treo). Once it scans all the records to resolve the conflicts, the Treo shuts down and reboots. The Sync will hang for a second then tries to finish the syncing like normal, but when you check the log it says that the records could not be modified (obviously it couldn't because the Treo rebooted and broke the current HotSync).

I am afraid to do a Hard Reset only because I can't be sure his data is fully backed up (He is a VP in our company). Any suggestions, or is a hard reset the only way to cure this ailment?

First of all, I am sundial and oracle calendar ignorant, but will ask anyway . . . Is there any way you can turn off the calendar update, to sync the data and back up what is on the Treo, then do a HRS? Is there any kind of back up app installed to auto back up to the Card? If there was, his data would at least be backed up to whatever schedule he has it set it to . . .
