If anyone is about to update their 650 to the new Cingular patch 1.17 (November, 2005), I would strongly urge you to hold off.
It has proved extremely "buggy" on my phone, and in one two hour conversation with support in Banglador, apparently there are known issues which has not been posted for the general public.
First issue: the install will "blow-up" if an expansion card is present in the Treo. Second issue, on reinstall a temporary secondary user is created, which apparenly mucks-up access for other programs on reinstall. Third issue is a fairly constant reboot if you use Avantgo, Vindigo, or InBox ToGo.
It is fairly ugly, and support is atrocious. The folks in India tried hard, but a hard reboot does not resolve the issue: it looks like there are conflicts when various applications attempt to access the Internet. Even InBox ToGo, which was released with a new build.
Treo's are great, but the VP in charge of support and quality assurance should be dropped mid Bay of Bengal from 10,000 meters without a chute.
I didn't have any of those issues either. Had a card and Avantgo, too. I followed the instructions, deleted the extra archive they had in the Mac files, and was good to go.
My only issue was that while 1.17 fixed the auto-off reset glitch it came back when I added a bluetooth headset. Other than that, no problems.
