When you try to call with your gps does it show the whole 10 digit number or does it just die. Maybe you can try sending one contact and see what happens...

I can't get any contacts across from treo to GPS so I don't know how many digits. Treo works fine with bluetooth GPS. I can dial from GPS and receive calls. Only thing I can't do is transfer contacts to GPS. I have tried all and I have tried individual ones. The Treo always hangs at the same point after it is told to transfer via Bluetooth

Default Synching Treo contacts to Garmin GPS

I have a Garmin Street Pilot c550 and a Treo 700p. The contacts can be transferred from the Treo to the Garmin but have to be done one by one.

1. Highlight a contact on your Treo (be sure to highlight contact name, not the phone number)
2. Click on Contact tab in upper left corner of contact entry
3. Click on Send entry
4. Highlight Bluetooth
5. Check the box next to the name of the device you are sending the contact to (presumably your Garmin)
6. Just follow the prompts and you are done

Repeat this for each contact.

I hope this works for you.

Hi Laurel
Thanks for the try. The transfer crashes the Treo even when I try to send a single contact as well as "send all" Palm says its a Garmin problem. Garmin says its a Palm problem. Verizon says "What's a GPS?

Default Garmin contacts and Treo

Sorry to hear this didn't work. I've just spent the whole evening doing that transfer of contacts, so I know how frustrated you must be. (It took me a while to learn how to get the contacts over to the Garmin.) I know that this sounds really silly, but have you tried calling back Garmin and/or Verizon and/or Palm (Palm has a live chat you can access via its website)? Sometimes it takes a few attempts until you find someone able to help you. Today I spoke to a Tech at Garmin who asked his co-workers if they had a Treo. He patiently checked with several people before he found someone with a 700p who could tell him what I needed to do. It's just the luck of the draw when you call in. Of the three sources (Garmin, Verizon, and Palm), I have found Garmin to be the most helpful with this issue.

Good luck!
