Treo 650 Desk Cradle

I am shopping around for Treo accessories and need some feedback. The first item on my list is a cradle for a Treo 650. My main choices are the Seido Desk Cradle or the Palm Cradle. The Seido looks nicer and allows you to place the Treo on the cradle while in the case. The Palm Cradle has the advantage of an extra battery, which relates to my next question. I plan on buying an extra battery. Prices vary and vendors are abundant. Where could you find the best value on these batteries? Ebay seems to have the lowest prices while Seidoonline.com has a 2400mAh battery. What rating (1700, 1800, 1900 etc) provides the best battery life and value?

The main question relates to the feasibility of the Seido's place in case feature vs. the Palm cradle extra battery compartment. Does Seido really works with most cases (except the vaja); Does the Palm cradle extra battery compartment works as expected. My decision will be based on one these features. Let me know if you have other cradle suggestions as well.

I use the Seidio cradle and love it. I did use it with a skin, but got rid of the skin because I thought it made the Treo look cheap. The skin reminds me of the old days when people would put the clear plastic covers over the couches to keep them clean. Yes it works, and yes it looks terrible! I am not using a case, but got it because of the audio output. I keep it on the cradle and listen to MP3's while I am at work. If you play audio you need to buy the $9.00 adapter to go with it. I did not do this and had to go back and purchase it. The audio works great for headphones without the adapter, but I have to have the adapter to play it with my amplified speakers. It does look like it would work with most cases. The part that connects to the Treo "floats" on the cradle so you have room for a case. I use a belt pouch when I carry the Treo with me, but do not use a case in the cradle.

I also use the Siedio cradle. I love it now, but it does take a bit of getting used to. Getting the phone on the cradle itself takes some getting used to. Once you getting the hang of it, it is a very nice strudy cradle.
