    Default Treo 650 Housing Issue

Hey all, new to the boards, but I figure it's better late then never...right?
    :laugh3:

Well, I've owned my Treo for a good year now, it's a Verizon Wireless Treo 650 CDMA phone, and I've been fairly happy with its performance. The damn thing is built like a tank...so far it's withstood a pretty heavy beating.

I was hoping to change the housing for my phone, and have found a couple of really good Do It Yourself guides. I've gone ahead and ordered a brand new set of screws for the phone, as well as getting my hands on the screwdriver needed to get the job done...now it's a matter of changing the phone housing and sort of "refurbishing" my phone, so that I can pass the phone on to my father...he needs it more than I do.

There seems to be only two or three types of housings available for the phone.

The first is the blueish/chrome housing for the 650 CDMA model.
The second is a silver colored housing for the 650 CDMA model.
The third is called the 10th Year Anniversary Black-Tie edition.

...Now I was wondering, is there any way to make this housing (which is specified as being for the GSM version of the phone) fit the Verizon 650 CDMA Treo?

If so, then could somebody point me in its direction?

If not, could somebody just flat out tell me that it's impossible so that I can just go ahead and order an OEM housing for the phone?

    I'd really REALLY appreciate it.

    Thanks all, and cheers!

Not sure but you will have a sim card slot that is not needed with your phone..

I figured as much, but I wonder if the housing itself will actually fit, or am I going to end up spending money on that bad-ass blacktie version, only to find out that it isn't gonna fit and that I'm going to have to get a second new housing for the CDMA model for verizon.

    BUMP!!!

YOU CAN USE EITHER HOUSING MODEL, THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS IF YOU USE THE GSM VERSION YOU WILL HAVE TO ALTER THE SIM SLOT BY CUTTING AND GLUEING OTHER THAN THAT ITS A PERFECT FIT!!!
