treo 650 is possessed! need help please - Treo Forums

ok, so I upgraded from an older palm device to the 650. I made the mistake of just doing a hot sync so it transferred alot of crap and debris from my old palm (additional photo viewer, additional calc program, etc). really annoying weird stuff.

basically I want to start fresh but keep all of my calender, address book, to do list, etc information. I want to get rid of all the other stuff.

How should I just back up the info I want, make sure to delete all of the unwanted (so it doesn't sync), and make my treo happy?

PS. I am using a Mac and palm desktop

1. Sync to your Desktop PIM (Outlook, etc). This will keep your appointments, contacts, etc.
2. Find your backup folder at /program files/palmone/'yourname'/backup. Rename this folder to 'OldBackup'
3. Hard reset your Treo
4. Sync the empty Treo and select your user name when prompted.
The sync will pull all your Outlook data, but none of the previous items.

I actually decided to export all my PIM data, make a new user, import the exported data and then do a hard reset on my device. then i synced with the new user.

also, weird thing...i lost a TON of my contacts. they were no where to be found, not on the desktop OR handheld. weird. Then somehow they were given back to me be verizon's wireless sync. so odd since i didn't set wireless sync to sync any of my personal data. Oh well...I'm not complaining!
