TREO 650 keeps going into the sync mode..why?

the treo 650 keeps going into sync mode...i press cancel..its waits a while then goes to the sync mode....keep trying to sync with the pc...why?

Is there something wrong with the treo?

the HotSync loops continuously..i can't stop it....help...!

Wow, that's a pain. Is this while your treo is connected to your data cable? A short in your cable can end up making your treo think its time to sync... but, if it's just any time that it tries to sync it's a more serious issue. Any new 3rd party software you installed on your treo and/or your pc (especially sync management software) around the time your treo started doing this?

Keep us up to date on how that goes. Hopefully better than previous cases have >_<.

Try and do the other resets before the gasp...hard one.

Good point, Plunker. I should have been less harsh, :embarassed: . Let us know if any of the resets help, though in this type of situation I don't think the others will help. Soft reset it, then warm, then hard... Hopefully you have your data backed up.

Anyway, to update all, I have done all kinds of reset and to no effect. The treo is still sync......Wonder any kind souls can help me with this as I am getting desparate.

The sync took place without the cable. It just automatically goes into a sync loop and I have not installed any third party software.

ya...its clean....i have used a blow brush to clean it....it is still sync continously.....sigh...

You could maybe replace the motherboard... How long have you had your treo? Do you have much data on it?

i have no data on it...changed mobo? where to get the replacement?

there are several different places. On line pdaparts.com or performancepda.com both should have motherboard you can do it yiurself or have them do it. You might try doing a hard reset again I have read in threads here that it can be tricky to do it correctly. You might look those threads up and try several times to make sure your are doing it successfully before you spend the money on a new board. Kepp us posted and best wishes for a happier new year
