Default Treo 650 Keypad Locked

I was given a used Treo 650, however the keypad seems to be locked somehow.

Everything seems to work fine, except the system will not respond to anything on the keypad. However I am pretty sure the keypad works because a) when it goes idle the power button turns it back on and b) I did a "Hard Reset" as described here:

http://mytreo.net/treofaq/Treo650Resetting

Which requires using the keypad, and it worked fine. However whenever the phone is on, it will not respond to anything on the keypad.

Any ideas?

Also check your preferences to se if you have the setting enabled to lock keypad (I dont think there is one, but there might be).

Hello num1badz,

This is Kevin from Palm. It could be third-party, but before that you'll want to check what Antoine referred to. From the main Launcher page > Prefs > General > Keyguard. You can turn it off there. Normally, if Keyguard is on, you should see a button when you first turn the device on that says "Keyguard: Press Center button to unlock".

Sincerely
Kevin

Default Another unresponsive keyboard.

I have begun experiencing this same problem today. The keyboard doesn't respond to any button presses, EXCEPT for the button in the middle of the navigational pad. The power button (red) responds only when waking the phone up as does the phone button (green). The only button that works after that is the middle navigational. The touch screen works fine. I'm having to remove and reinsert my SD card if I want to access the main page and having to do soft resets to get out of any program if I want to go back to the phone. Also having to initiate a phone call in order to get the phone to turn on. It's frustrating. My phone is about 3 weeks old and I was loving it...

Even though I bought my phone new off eBay, I'm going to take it to Cingular tomorrow morning and see if they can/will do anything about it. I'm also going to give Palm a call if the Cingular route leads nowhere.
