Default Treo 650, Old AT&T Wireless, Unlock?

I bought a Treo 650 for $50. I did forget to get clarification on one thing, though--if it was the old AT&T wireless type, back even before they were Cingular. If that is the case, I am going to need to unlock it somehow, right?

I did see at http://tinyurl.com/2flqkf that apparently you can buy an unlock code on eBay and it will work. Anyone have any experience with that? How much would it likely cost, who is a reputable seller of such services if that is the way to go? I did also find this 2 eBay seller that does this: http://tinyurl.com/yvtqyb.

Or did I make a mistake, should I instead have gotten the one that was $125 and totally unlocked (for use with T-mobile or whoever)?

Never mind, I just heard from the seller and he stated that it did in fact have the Cingular logo on it, so it will be good-to-go. That's a relief, one less complication to worry with.

Even so, if anyone has any tips regarding this would've-been scenario (in case anyone else encounters this problem and pulls up this thread in a search), feel free to respond.
