I can't believe they would make a Treo that wasn't compatible with older devices? Then again, maybe it has something to do with the transition for Handspring to PalmOne. Or, just maybe they were looking to rake in more accessory sales? Imagine that? If the new Treo 650 were dramatically different in size and specs, then I could see it...but I don't see that much of difference. Looks awesome, but it's not that different from my 600?

I do like the answer/hang-up hard buttons. The less fingers on the screen..the better.

The Treo 650 won't be available until October. I'd suggest visiting the PalmOne site at that time. To keep up to date on release news, you can subscribe to our newsletter on the homepage.

    Default Just Purchased a 600

I just discovered this forum. Had I known that the Treo 600 is scheduled for an update, I would have waited for the 650 model. Since I purchased the 600 from Palmone and will be using my existing TMobile service, does anyone know if Palmone will give me a trade on my soon to be delivered 600 for a 650 once a ship date for the 650 is announced? Thanks in advance for your input. This is a cool forum.

If history is any indicator, there will be an upgrade program for existing Treo users. If you had a 300, they offered you an upgrade to the 600. Don't beat yourself up over the 650. It could be months before we see a t-mobile version. No one knows for sure, but you can enjoy your 600. I just bought my Treo 600 at the end of July, so I'm bought at the end of the lifecycle. Look at the plus side: they've worked out all the kinks, you've got the latest firmware, there are a ton of accessories (which will not be compatible with the 650) and you can always upgrade when the time is right.

    Chris,
Thank you for your input and appreciate your taking the time to reply. I'm sure I'll be quite happy with the 600 and will probably upgrade when the time is right.
